Silly title but today I did see my first groundhog and I was thrilled. It means the lil critters are out of their dens, playing chicken with the cars on 18 South and hopefully bringing Spring. "Down The Mountain" they already have Spring. The flowers are blooming as well as the trees. You don't need to still bundle up with a coat. Lowes garden center was full of flowers and plants that I knew if I bought they'd freeze out once I planted them. I love the mountain but after such a long winter I'm burnt out. We seem to have such shorter seasons like Spring...it just rushes right into Summer then to Fall and bang it is Ol Man Winter again. I'm hoping Mr. Groundhog keeps the nice weather heading this way. At least Gertie my goose is doing her part. Last I checked she has 6 eggs and is sitting nicely on her nest. Now if someone can tell me how to pull out those darn thorn covered I think hemlock trees I'd be thrilled. I did tie a rope around one today, hooked the rope to the truck and WHOO HOO I yanked that sucker out. But when I tried it on two other trees it was the rope that got yanked out. Anybody have a beaver they want to lend me?
